These Certificate Terms apply to any HELGA certificate, PDF certificate, paper certificate, QR certificate, completion certificate, or verification page.
By purchasing, requesting, downloading, receiving, using, or sharing a HELGA certificate, you agree to these Certificate Terms.
1. Paid Certificate
Certificates are paid products.
A certificate is issued only after successful payment and only if the user meets the certificate requirements shown in the app.
Certificates are available for purchase only to users with an active paid HELGA subscription at the time of purchase.
Certificate purchase does not include or extend a subscription unless explicitly stated.
2. Eligibility
To be eligible for a certificate, you may need to complete required lessons, levels, tests, checks, or learning paths shown in the app.
We may refuse, delay, revoke, or cancel a certificate if we reasonably believe that:
- completion data is missing or incorrect;
- the account was used fraudulently;
- lessons were completed through bots, scripts, automation, account sharing, or manipulation;
- payment failed, was refunded, or was charged back;
- the user submitted false information;
- the certificate would be misleading or unlawful.
3. Certificate Information
You are responsible for providing accurate information, including:
- name to appear on the certificate;
- email address;
- delivery address for paper certificates in Iceland;
- any other required certificate details.
We may print or generate the certificate exactly as submitted. We are not responsible for mistakes caused by incorrect information provided by you.
If you request changes after generation, printing, or dispatch, we may charge an additional fee.
4. Processing Time
Processing, preparation, and the start of dispatch may take up to 14 calendar days after:
- payment confirmation;
- confirmation of active subscription status;
- completion verification;
- receipt of complete and correct certificate information.
Delivery time is additional.
5. Delivery
Paper certificates are delivered only within Iceland.
Users outside Iceland receive certificates as PDF files by email only.
We do not currently ship paper certificates outside Iceland.
PDF delivery is made to the email address provided by the user or associated with the account.
6. QR Verification
Certificates may include a QR code or verification link.
The QR code may allow a third party to verify information such as:
- certificate ID;
- name shown on the certificate;
- course or level;
- issue date;
- verification status;
- whether the certificate is valid, revoked, or unavailable.
By purchasing or using a QR certificate, you understand that people who scan or access the QR code may see certificate verification information.
If you request deletion of certificate verification data, QR verification may stop working.
7. No Official Accreditation
HELGA certificates are internal completion certificates issued by HELGA.
They are not:
- government-issued documents;
- official Icelandic language exams;
- immigration documents;
- school or university diplomas;
- professional licences;
- guaranteed proof of fluency;
- guaranteed proof of employability;
- guaranteed CEFR certification, unless explicitly stated in writing.
We do not guarantee that any employer, school, authority, immigration office, government body, or third party will accept or recognise a HELGA certificate.
8. No Guarantee of Results
A certificate does not guarantee:
- employment;
- promotion;
- immigration approval;
- visa approval;
- salary increase;
- school admission;
- official language recognition;
- acceptance by any third party.
The certificate only confirms HELGA’s internal record of completion at the time of issue.
9. Corrections
If we make a material error on a certificate, contact info@learnhelga.is within 14 days of receiving it.
If the error is our fault, we may correct and reissue the certificate.
If the error was caused by information you provided, changes may require an additional fee.
10. Refunds and Cancellation
Certificate orders may be cancelled only before personalisation, PDF generation, printing, preparation, or dispatch begins.
Once the certificate has been personalised, generated, printed, prepared, sent, or dispatched, it is generally non-refundable, except where mandatory law requires otherwise or where the certificate is defective due to our error.
11. Revocation
We may revoke a certificate or disable QR verification if:
- payment is refunded, reversed, or charged back;
- the certificate was obtained through fraud, automation, manipulation, or false information;
- the user breached the Terms;
- the certificate is being misused;
- we are required by law or platform rules;
- continued verification would be misleading or harmful.
12. Personal Use
Certificates are personal to the named user. They may not be sold, transferred, altered, forged, or used to misrepresent another person’s learning record.
Any modification, forgery, or misuse may result in revocation and account suspension.
